Üsküdar American Academy is located on the Asian side of Istanbul. Considering the infamous traffic jams of Istanbul, we would advise you to book hotels near our school.
There are 2 different options for accommodation during TIMUN:
Designated Conference Hotels (special TIMUN prices, free shuttle service to and from our school)
Hotels of Your Own Choice
1. Designated Conference Hotels
Each year we visit a couple of local hotels and arrange a special TIMUN price. These hotels fit different budgets. During the conference days, TIMUN will be offering free shuttle service to and from the conference campus at the beginning and at the end of each day. You can find the schedule for the shuttle service below:
November 28th, Thursday: 15.00 and 18.30 - 19.00
November 29th, Friday: 8.00 (early shuttle at 7.30) and 18.00
November 30th, Saturday: 8.00 (early shuttle at 7.30), 17.45 (for schools that won’t attend the banquet dinner at Bridge Restaurant) and 20.30 (for schools that will attend the banquet dinner at Bridge Restaurant)
December 1st, Sunday: 8.20 (early shuttle at 8.00) and 16.15
Any bookings should be made by you directly with these hotels; we cannot make a booking on your behalf.
The hotels will be applying the special TIMUN prices and holding rooms until the 1st of November. After that date, they cannot guarantee either the adjusted TIMUN price or room availability. Therefore, please make your hotel bookings before the 1st of November.
Prices include breakfast but do not cover lunch or evening meals. (Remember that TIMUN provides an evening meal after the opening ceremony on Thursday, lunches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.)
The two designated TIMUN hotels are Mercure Hotel and Holiday Inn Hotel which are located very close to the conference venue.
Mercure Hotel offers single, double, and triple rooms, and the prices are the following:
Single Standard: 480 TL
Double Standard: 544 TL
Triple Standard: 736 TL

Holiday Inn Hotel offers single, double, and triple rooms, and the prices are the following:
Single rooms: 220 TL
Double rooms: 250 TL
Triple rooms: 300 TL

The payment deadline as well as the reservation deadline for the two conference hotels is the 1st of November. Booking and payment details will be discussed between the hotels and the participating schools. After you make your reservation and complete your payment, please add the name of your school as the description of the invoice in order for the hotels to be able to track your payment.
2. Hotels of Your Own Choice
It is possible to stay at a hotel of your own choice, and this is done by several schools every year. Public transport in Istanbul is efficient, yet you must consider traffic jams while planning your schedule. It is also possible to hire a minibus from AS-KOOP for your group. Remember that Istanbul is a very large city. If you have any concerns about the means of transport, send us an email and we will offer some practical advice.
Once you have made a booking, please remember to email us the full address, phone number and website of the hotel that you have chosen as it is critical for us to keep track of your accommodation details.
