Covid-19 Social Distancing and Hygiene Measures in TIMUN
Distinguished Advisors, Honorable Guests, and Esteemed Participants,
We would first like to express our solidarity with our participants from around the world who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our hearts and thoughts are with you and your loved ones.
MUN and TIMUN have played an important role for many years and although COVID-19 has affected nearly all aspects of daily life our intention is to make TIMUN ‘20 as good as possible. The Secretariat of TIMUN ‘20 is following all developments regarding COVID-19 both on a national and an international scale, adapting TIMUN ‘20 as needed. With this statement, we hope to clarify this year’s registration process under the ongoing circumstances.
TIMUN ‘20 has not yet determined a final date for school registrations. We acknowledge the extreme challenges schools are facing around the world, and hope to minimize any sort of additional pressure on our participants which may be caused by TIMUN.
The Student Officer, Expert, and Press Member applications will remain closed until the school registrations are finalized. Schools must register for TIMUN ‘20 in order for the applicants from their school to be eligible for consideration for these positions. We are committed to keeping all interested schools informed regarding this matter via email and our social media accounts.
TIMUN ‘20 will not request any payments from its participants until early October, 2020. TIMUN does not request a deposit payment from its participating schools. This means that schools would be able to cancel their registration for TIMUN ‘20 at any point before October, 2020. We acknowledge the current atmosphere of uncertainty, and believe the flexibility we give all our participants will ease their decision to register for TIMUN ‘20.
